Dr. Paul Robinson
In his role as the Senior Surgeon at the Hong Kong Jockey Club for 10 years, Paul has an intimate knowledge of racing in Hong Kong and can give confidence to buyers and bloodstock agents in the pre-importation vetting process through his work as an HKJC-Appointed Nominated Veterinarian.

Paul qualified as a veterinarian in 1999 from the University of Queensland. After working as an equine vet in racetrack practice in Morphettville, South Australia, he completed a 3-year surgical residency training program in the USA. In 2007, Paul passed the rigorous examination process to become recognised as a Specialist in Equine Surgery, granted by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Paul returned to Australia and worked as a surgeon in Scone, NSW and on the Gold Coast in QLD before moving overseas to work for the Hong Kong Jockey Club. During his 10 years at the HKJC, Paul was the Senior Surgeon in Sha Tin and provided routine veterinary services to several high-profile racing stables. He has published multiple scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and has been a keynote speaker at international veterinary meetings in the USA, UK, India, France, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia.
Paul and his family returned to Australia in late 2022. He primarily performs locum surgery at Avenel Equine Hospital and Morphettville Equine Clinic, as well as operating on individual horses on an ad-hoc basis at other hospitals in Australia and overseas. Paul is also a HKJC-Appointed Nominated Veterinarian for the importation of racehorses to Hong Kong.
